This Java applet displays the azimuth of the Sun and the Moon at rise or set

Simple applet version: Azimuth of the Sun at rise and set

	You may use the keys m, d, h to increase the month, day, or hour, or shift key and m, d, h to decrease the month, day, or hour. Click into the applet area first !
	Select latitude (northern positive, southern negative), and longitude (eastern negative, western positive) from the menus:
	Select from the "Write/Draw" menu.

U. L. means "Upper Limb" (just visible at rise and set). Rise 1° means visible at 1° above horizon after rising Set 1° means visible at 1° above horizon before setting. Select from the "Table..." menu: Check out the maximum and minimum azimuth or declination values of the Moon changing over the years and showing a period of about 18.5 years ! The diagram is also suited to read the approximate dates of New Moon and Full Moon. Click here to read more ! The gaps of the moon curve are resulting from the fact that there is one day every month without moonrise and one day without moonset.
